Two people who love each other and are together are in a relationship, but does that mean that the word "relationship" should only be used when two people live together? The word relationship is used in only one way; however, it can be used in many ways, like a relationship with friends, co-workers, and most importantly a relationship with God.
Friendship/Relationship
A relationship is used mostly in love, but it can also mean friendship. If a person has a best friend then that person has a deep relationship with that person but not in a love and romantic way. Two people can like each other, but that doesn't mean they are "in love". Relationships are friendships. While friends love each other in a way, they do not have to be "in love" to have a relationship.

Co-worker relationship
A person can have a relationship with a co-worker and not love or be friends. That is a business relationship. A relationship with a co-worker might not be deep, but it’s still a relationship nonetheless. The word relationship can be used in many ways.

Relationship with God
The most important relationship we can have is with God. People can have a relationship with God; they just have to put in the hard work. Every relationship takes work. A relationship with God is no different. Relationships take time and effort but if someone puts in the work, the relationship can be rewarding.

In conclusion, the word relationship can be used in more ways than one. So if a person is in a relationship it can mean more than one thing.
